Mid-Year Check In and Planning for Q3 and Q4

APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY | STITCHER

Did you set goals for yourself at the beginning of this year? Was their enough fire in your soul to conquer those goals to last you until now? Today we’re doing a mid-year check in and planning for Q3 and Q4. That way, we revisit our goals, and see if there are any areas we can improve to finish the last half of the year strong. Every year, I set goals around five areas in my life: marriage, finances, family, business and personal pillars. I’m diving into each one to discuss where I’m at with my goals and encourage you to revisit yours.

If you want to listen to the episode where I chat all about my goals for 2022, it’s episode 7 found HERE.

Mid-Year Check In and Planning for Q3 and Q4

Most of us want to live a well-rounded life. As much as I can chat business all day, I like to set goals for not only my business but other areas of my life too. Goal pillars will look different for everyone. Maybe you only have three pillars or maybe you have more than five. It just depends on where you’re at in life, and what you’re focusing on.

Mid-Year Check In: Marriage

Josh and I’s big goal for this year is to take a solo mom-and-dad trip together. We have yet to do this, but our anniversary is in August. So we just booked a trip to the beach! It’s going to be hard to leave our little ones behind, but we are both looking forward to going on a new adventure together.

Mid-Year Check In: Finances

The next pillar that I focus on is finances. I am super proud of where we are in terms of our finances. As I mentioned at the beginning of this year, we follow the Dave Ramsey plan. I would say we are doing this a little more loosely than he recommends. His method is to attack debt like a gazelle as he puts it.

And we did this in the beginning for our consumer debt. However, now that all we have left is to pay off the new car, we are doing this a little more relaxed in the sense that we have a plan for paying it off and we simply stick to that amount.

Mid-Year Check In: Family

The third pillar I’m going to dive into is family. Josh and I wanted to take Beckam (our oldest son) to the beach for the first time, and we did that over Memorial Day weekend. We have family that live in St. Augustine, Florida, so we went to go visit them, and had the best time!

We have also been making it a point to go do fun things on the weekends with the kids. Whether that’s checking out a farmers market, exploring new parks in the area, hunting down the best donuts in Atlanta or visiting a farm and picking strawberries, we are making the most of the summer!

Mid-Year Check In: Personal

So personally, my goal was to jump back into working out three to five times a week. While, I’m not quite there, I will say that I’m working my way up to five times a week. My recovery process took a little longer than I expected after having Wallace.

But I’m also working on small things like drinking more water, pouring into myself by creating more boundaries in my life, delegating more as a business leader so that I can have more white space to one just breathe, but also to tap back into my creativity, so that I can show up well in all areas of my life.

Mid-Year Check In: Business

At the beginning of this year, I truly left my business goals open. I wanted to leave room, so that good things could come to me, and I wasn’t stuck in a rigid plan.

And I have to say, it’s amazing what happens when you just trust that things will work out the way they are supposed to. These past six months have been the busiest season in the past two plus years of business, and I feel like we’re just getting started. In the past six months, we welcomed eight new clients into the studio, we added on four new team members, and we welcomed a new batch of students into The VA studio course at the end of Q1.

We also have some BIG things planned for our current students and those aspiring to be a profitable virtual assistant. I don’t want to spill the beans too much, but let’s just say we have an entire digital product suite coming out soon that is going to help you attract more clients, make more money, and do it all while implementing done-for-you automated systems. I am truly SO fired up!!

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to look at the bucket of your life that you create goals around. Ask yourself where are you in reaching your goals? What do you need to do to meet your goals? What can you implement TODAY that will get you one step closer? How can you make 2022 YOUR YEAR?! You have the ability to create the reality that you want, all you have to do is take action.
