It’s hard to believe that I am officially in the third trimester! I wholeheartedly meant to write a second trimester update, but time just slipped away. So here I am with my third trimester update! While I’m excited to be nearing the end of pregnancy, and one step closer to meeting our sweet little miracle babe, I have to admit that I’m also feeling a little sad to be closing this chapter of our lives. For the past two and a half years it’s been our little family of three. It’s almost hard to imagine that it could get any sweeter than it already is. But I’ve heard that your heart just grows, or something along those lines. Mamas of two, feel free to chime in!

While the first trimester was a little dicey in terms of exhaustion and nausea, the second trimester has been so kind to me. For that I could not be more grateful. I do exhaust the limit of Tums you can take in a day frequently, and might have to visit the lou of every establishment we visit, but it’s all worth it!

Q: HOW ARE YOU FEELING?

I am feeling really good! I’ve even been able to manage some light exercising and can still get up off the floor all by my self, so I’d consider that a win. Now that we are getting closer to delivery, I’m starting to feel both excited and a little nervous. My delivery with Beckam did not go at all how I expected, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect for baby number two. I’m trying to keep an open mind, but would ideally love to have a natural birth with little interference.

Q: ARE YOU FINDING OUT THE GENDER?

Yes, we found out in the second trimester. We didn’t do a typical gender reveal party, but we did have Josh’s parents on Facetime and my parents came over and brought confetti poppers. Honestly, just popping those were so fun! To our surprise, we are expecting another boy! Maybe it was because everyone else had convinced us, but we totally thought it was a girl in the beginning. So funny. But the thought of having another tiny Beckam, is the absolute best!

Q: HAVE YOU LANDED ON A NAME?

Yes, and no. I think we may possibly have a name, but I haven’t fully committed. We didn’t announce the name we had chosen when we had Beckam until we delivered and I think we are going to go that route again. I love the idea of meeting our sweet little babe before we completely finalize what to call him. If you have good suggestions, send them my way!

Q: HOW ARE YOU PREPARING YOUR BUSINESS?

We are working hard to batch content so that we have blog posts, podcast episodes, emails and more all ready to go. As far as client work goes, my team will continue to support our amazing clients while I get my footing when baby comes. My husband has a month paternity leave, so I’m excited for that time together as we navigate our new normal as a family of four! Then I’m planning to work in between feedings and baby snuggles. That is the true beauty in my job, that I get to stay home and also work my dream job!

I don’t have concrete plans other than that. I’m trying to be flexible and give myself grace, while also keeping an open mind knowing that my beautiful routine that I’ve created is going to right out the window with a new babe. I plan to post updates as I go along over on Instagram, so be sure you’re following along!

Q: WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT?

I’m honestly so excited to be able to work from home, knowing I won’t miss a second with baby number two. I can’t wait to see Beckam be the best big brother. He is such a sweet soul and so independent and protective of mommy that I know he’s going to be a big help! I’m also excited to see Josh be a dad again. He’s truly such a natural at being a present dad and it’s one of my favorite things in the world to see.

Q: WHAT ARE YOU PURCHASING FOR BABY NUMBER TWO?

We are not purchasing a ton for baby number two, seeing as we still have everything from when Beckam was a newborn, but there are a few key things that I’m excited to try this time around. The first is the Elvie breast pump. My sister gifted this to me and I could not be more excited to have a wireless pump. This is going to be huge for multitasking. I also think have more mobility with pumping will make it easier to breastfeed for longer. I also recently purchased the Haakaa. I’m planning to use this to catch the let down, hopefully helping to increase our excess supply. I didn’t produce a ton with Beckam so every ounce matters!

I’m also excited to use the Solly baby wrap. I didn’t have a carrier with Beckam and feel like it’s something that I’ll use a ton, especially when I’m out and about with Beckam and need to be hands free. We also grabbed a baby lounger while it was on sale!
